Skipwith Parish Council is pleased to welcome you to our parish website.
During 2004/2005 a village wide committee was formed to engage in a consultative exercise with the population of the village in order to identify their opinions on present services and infrastructure, and propose suggestions for the future. The Skipwith Parish Plan committee reported their findings during September of 2005. Having reviewed their findings the Parish Council has drawn up an action plan, this website has been produced as an integral part of that action plan.
The main purpose of this website is to enhance the Parish Council's ability to communicate with the residents of Skipwith, and to provide interested parties with up-to-date information on what is going on in the village.
The Parish Council meets bi-monthly in Skipwith Village Hall. Members of the public are welcome to attend, there is generally an opportunity for individuals to raise any matters of concern or ask councillors questions. Alternatively if you are unable to attend a meeting please either email the clerk or speak to any of the named councillors directly. For items to be included in the agenda of any meeting at least seven days notice is required. Special Parish Council meetings may be called at short notice in response to unforeseen business; planning applications whose consultation period falls outside meeting dates would be one example. The venue for such meetings will reflect public interest.
